About RIU Hotels & Resorts

Riu is the surname of the family that founded the business in Mallorca, Spain, back in 1953 when they purchased a small hotel in Playa de Palma. Here they forged a customer-focused service philosophy and a way of doing business based on honesty and hard work. Our vocation has been passed down through the generations, and that is why family values still play an important role at RIU today.
